Retired USCG Licensed Chief Engineer
Dennis is a retired USCG Licensed Chief Engineer, who offers a broad range of experience, including sailing as engineer aboard oceangoing steam and motor vessels, as well as, shoreside positions in engineering, operations, maintenance, training and compliance. Dennis graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 1977 with a BS degree in Marine Engineering. His 38 years of experience included sailing for 20 years as an engineer aboard freighters and oil tankers. Much of his career was spent sailing for Polar Tankers, Inc., a subsidiary of ConocoPhillips, who operates five Endeavour-class tankers in the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline System (TAPS) trade, lifting crude oil in Valdez, Alaska, and discharging at ports along the West Coast of the United States and Hawaii.
His shoreside experience included working as Technical Training Instructor at Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant, Assistant Professor of Engineering at Maine Maritime Academy and as Training Compliance Director for Polar Tankers.
Dennis and his wife currently reside in Rockport, Maine enjoying the outdoors.
